Chris Cobb Architecture is a collaborative design office committed to the craft of architecture. Our primary focus is on purpose-built architecture for residential clients, creative agencies, cultural institutions, and non-profit entities. Our best work comes from partnering with quality-conscious clients who care deeply about the places they live and work.

CHRIS COBB, AIA
DESIGN PRINCIPAL
With over 30 years of practice, Chris has a broad range of experience that includes working in residential construction to managing the designs of large institutional projects. He graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University in 1993. After launching his own office in 2006, his primary focus has been on custom residential and small commercial projects for non-profit organizations and privately held owner-occupied buildings. His work has been highlighted on an international television series and featured in numerous publications and architecture tours.
Chris has been actively involved with AIA Austin since 2003 and has served on Homes Tour Committee, Design and Honor Awards Committee, Communications Committee, Facilities Committee, and Finance Committee. He has chaired the Honors Award Committee and the Communications Committee. He served 7 years on the AIA Austin Executive Board of Directors and wrote for Texas Architect magazine from 2016 to 2018. He served as the President of the board for the Austin Foundation of Architecture in 2020 and 2021 and served 5 years as Secretary of the board for Big Medium.
JOY HAN
DESIGNER ASSOCIATE / DESIGN MANAGER
Born and raised in Texas, Joy earned her B.A. from the University of Southern California and began her career in Los Angeles, where she worked across a range of project types - including commercial, multifamily, and higher education - at several architecture and interior design firms. This breadth of experience has equipped her with the versatility and coordination skills needed for complex, mission-driven projects.
Since relocating to Austin, Joy has continued to hone a thoughtful, collaborative approach rooted in listening and design excellence. She is passionate about creating purposeful spaces that reflect the values and aspirations of the communities they serve - making her well-suited to lead projects that require both strategic vision and a deep sense of care.

CATARINA PIRES RIBEIRO
DESIGN ASSOCIATE / DESIGNER
Based in Lisbon - a city where history and modernity intersect - Catarina is a thoughtful designer who brings a deep sensitivity to place, culture, and community. She approaches each project as an opportunity to translate design ideas and community insights into clear, purposeful strategies.
With a belief in architecture as a social craft, Catarina works collaboratively with the team to shape environments that are grounded in context and meaning. Her design process is guided by curiosity, care, and a poetic sensibility that helps bring ideas to life in ways that feel both grounded and inspiring.
